A one of a kind geometric cup! 

made with a brown speckled clay, which gives a slight textured, natural feel in the hand. The carving gives a wonderful grip and also something to appreciate every time you pick up the cup. it has been glazed with a beautiful speckled olive green glaze. 

It has been such a long process for these mugs. I took a few lessons of Moroccan geometry from Hamza Al-Fasiki from craft draft and he’s shared amazing insight into geometric patterns and taught us traditional methods of drawing these intricate designs that have been used for centuries, which has now illuminated and adorned the magnificent walls, roofs, floors and pretty much every corner of the cities of Morocco. A beauty and perfection of design to remind us of The Perfect.

So, I had to incorporate it into my ceramics. From the patterns I have learnt, this 12-fold pattern (of which I have halved to fit the circumference of the mug) has got to be one of my favourites. It’s also the first design I had learnt with channeled lines, making it perfect for craving.

Very happy to have this one cup going up for sale as I know many of you have been close to begging for it 😆. It was initially a pair, of which I have kept one for myself. The other two pairs have been given as gifts for my geometry teachers. I hope this cup goes to someone who will appreciate and treasure it. I hope it brightens up your day when you use it, the same way it does for me.
